Events Driving ValueThe fourth installment of the Sponsorium Report clearly lays out the trends in the market place. Events are still leading the pack in terms of sponsorship performance and this report delves even further into the stats to paint a full picture of the state of the market.
The folks at Sponsorium also identify what brands want and how rights owners can pursue a genuine partnership agreement.
What do brands want?
For the first time we are able to share with you a unique insight into the brands' mindset, to shed some light on what they look for and how sponsorship sellers could improve their offering.

The report looked at the composition of trends within the sponsorship market. Most striking is that the headline grabbing premium properties that most people associate with sponsorship actually represents the tip of the iceberg. Just 4% of the opportunities in the global sponsorship market relate to properties with an asking fee of $500,000 plus a year. The vast majority (87%) of opportunities relate to events whose asking fees are $100,000 or less.
Sponsorship opportunities are in abundance but how well do they meet the needs of the buyers? Year on year we have seen an improvement of 7%, which suggests rights owners are listening to the needs of brands and working towards a more flexible approach to sponsorship rights and a ‘partnership approach’, rather than a ‘buyer –seller relationship’.
